FireKeepers Local Revenue Sharing Board (FLRSB) 2024 Tier -IV Grant Recipients

On Tuesday, August 20, 2024 the FireKeepers Local Revenue Sharing Board (FLRSB) met to consider grant applications totaling $750,000 for local government projects countywide.  This marks the first time since 2019 that the FLRSB has offered Tier IV Discretionary Grants.

The board voted unanimously to award FLRSB grants for 25 local project, total $439,263.  Marengo Township was awarded for  cemetery and fire departments projects.  To read more about the program and all the recipients go to Calhoun County, Office of the Administrator/Controller - For Immediate Release.

Solid Waste and Recycling Program Announces
September Recycling Events

Calhoun County will hold two free recycling events during the month of September.  These events accept residential materials and are open to residents of Calhoun County.  We request all participants to stay inside their vehicles at the events.

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection - Monday, September 9

Scrap Tire Collection - Monday, September 23

COVID-19 Community Update

The Calhoun County Public Health Department (CCPHD) is keeping a close eye on COVID-19.  Calhoun County, along with the rest of the US, saw a small spike in COVID-19 cases during the month of August, however total case counts were comparable to what was seen in August 2023.
